Are GM or Aftermarket Trailer Tire Sensors Better for a 2022 GMC Sierra 3500

Updated 08/31/2024 | Published 08/27/2024

Question:

I have a 2022 GMC 3500 Denali which has a TPMS for the truck which you can also add for the trailer. I am pulling a 2021 Lance 1985 trailer with 4 tires. Do I need to purchase a systems with a display or can I just purchase the tire sensors that will integrate with the Infosystem? What product would you recommend?

Thanks for reaching out to etrailer, Sam!

What you're looking for is the GM kit 85110397, but you'll have to go through a GM dealership to get them. Even though we don't sell this, it's a pretty sweet setup to be able to monitor your truck and trailer using the OEM system on your 2022 GMC Sierra 3500.

With that being said, I recommend going with one of the systems we carry, like the TST TPMS for RVs # TST-507-FT-4-C, because the GM kit only reads the pressure but the kits we carry read the pressure, the temperature, and let's you know if you have a blowout (in the event you aren't sure what's going on).

Our kit also installs with flow-through sensors so they can be installed without having to get inside the tire, like what you have to do with the GM system.

I'm attaching a review video of our kit for you to check out.
