Dimensions for Placing Rear Curt Rail in Bed of 2020 Ford F-150 5-1/2 ft Bed
Published 08/26/2024 >
Question:
We are installing a 5th wheel hitch into our 2020 f150 with a 5.6 ft bed. Where do I install the first rail? We have a curt a16 slider hitch. We purchased universal rails but it does not say where to install the rail from the tailgate of the truck. Any help is greatly appreciated

Hey Catherine, so Curt doesn't list a universal set of fifth wheel rails for your 2020 Ford F-150 5-1/2 ft bed so your best option would be to use the bed/rail dimensions they list for their custom install kit # C38ZV which is 28-9/16 inches from the rear rail edge to the rear of the truck bed edge. You'd then want to use the hitch to place the front rail so that everything matches up perfectly.
This is actually same dimensions to use regardless of truck bed length.
