Troubleshooting A Non-Working Tekonsha Primus IQ Trailer Brake Controller

Question:
Installed premius iq all new wires with new brakes a complete rewire of trailer an all everything new even plug getting nc an it want allow me to adjust manual brake or anything except go through b b1 b2 b3 if I pull trailer an push manual brake on controller brakes are catching on trailer no flashin lights or an it doesn’t show voltage eaither

Hey Richard,
I would first check the voltage running to the Tekonsha Primus IQ # TK90160 to make sure it's getting 12 volts. I would also check the ground connection for both the Primus IQ and the brake assemblies. When you connected to the trailer the code should have gone from 'n.c' to '. .' after 15 seconds. If not then you likely have a wiring issue on tow vehicle or trailer. If the Primus IQ is getting enough power and has a good ground connection then there's no reason for it to not allow you to change the manual override output and the controller itself is likely faulty.
