How to Tow 5th Wheel Trailer With 2023 Ram 2500 With Curt Underbed OEM-Style Gooseneck

Question:

I have a 2023 Ram 2500 with a Curt under the bed gooseneck already installed and would like to add rails RP56009-53 so I can attach my BandW Patriot 16K hitch. Can the rails be installed if the gooseneck is already there or does it require a puck system? Thank you!

Hey Kyle,

So there is still a way to tow a 5th wheel trailer with your 2023 Ram 2500 and the Curt Custom Underbed OEM-Style Gooseneck Trailer Hitch # C60633, base rails won't fit with that gooseneck because they'd interfere with each other. So that means you wouldn't be able to use your Patriot, but what you can do is use a 5th wheel hitch that attaches to the gooseneck ball, the Demco Recon Gooseneck-to-5th Wheel Trailer Hitch Adapter # DM8550045.

The Recon # DM8550045 is nice because it comes in two lightweight pieces, so you can easily install and remove the hitch when you come back from your trip. It's also just a plain ol' good hitch, with a single-piece jaw that encompasses the king pin, and is reinforced via a 3/4" solid steel bar.
