Question:
Looking for a hitch that a semi knowledgeable person can install. I have a 2014 Malibu ls I need a scooter to carry so I need to hitch for the car and the scooter weighs 358 pounds. Do you also have the package that I can put in the scooter on through your hitch?

Hey Julio, thanks for reaching out!
The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C12115 is what I recommend for your 2014 Chevy Malibu. This has a novice install time of 50 minutes so for someone who is a little handy (which it sounds like you are) it should be fairly easy. I'm also attaching our install video of this hitch on this exact vehicle for you to reference.
When it comes to the weight capacity it can handle up to 350 lbs of tongue weight, so I recommend looking into a cargo carrier that has wheels on it since this hitch can't handle the weight of your scooter - let alone adding the weight of the rack as well. The carrier may end up having light on it so if that's the case I recommend installing the Curt T-Connector # C56176 wiring at the same time as the hitch so it's all one project.
The only alternative to a carrier with wheels is an actual trailer, which still may need to be the route to go depending on what you're able to find.

Hey Julio, how did things go with the Curt hitch on your Malibu? Were you able to find a carrier with wheels or decide to go with a small trailer instead? Your update could make it easier for others trying to haul a heavier scooter.
