Question:
Hello I ordered the 55378 curt 4 prong kit for 2001 toyota tundra. I hooked it up per instructions and nothing. but there is a 7 prong hitch installed that has a converter box that is faulty that has a 4 prong wired into the 7 prong. the 4 prong is faulty as well. I assumed I could bypass this and use the new kit. Is there something else I should do. I believe the wiring is from drawtite. Thank you Robin

Hello Robin, thanks for reaching out. It sounds to me like there is an underlying issue with the factory wiring on your truck. The first thing to do will be to open up the fuse box and make sure you don't have any blown fuses. A blown fuse would definitely explain why you are getting no power to any of the trailer wiring harness. If all of the fuses are ok I suspect the wiring on your truck may be damaged or you possibly have a short somewhere. Usually, this kind of issue is best diagnosed by a qualified mechanic.
