Question:

Can this set up be used on the back of a 24 Thor Four Winds? I have a cargo hitch on the back now, I want to mount the base onto my 6 inch square bumper that is flat across the back of the RV. Then mount the bike hitch to it so my bikes can ride Overtop my storage box mounted to my hitch. Let me know if this will fit the need. Thanks

Hey Sam, thanks for reaching out!

I really like the way you think, but the mounting brackets for the Stromberg Carlson Bike Bunk # CC-275 aren't wide enough to fit around your 6" square bumper.

You might be able to use something like the Replacement Shank for Gen-Y Adjustable Ball Mount # 325-GH-306 so you have a lower receiver for the carrier and then a higher one for the bike rack, but this will all depend on how tall your cargo carrier is. The Gen-Y shank offers a 12-1/2" rise/drop so you'll have to compare that to what you currently have.

Thank you for the reply! I was looking at a double hitch with the Bike rack extending up and then dropping the bikes down. I will look at this hitch as well. Let me know when you modify your Bike Bunk to fit this application. I have seen several other people with the same need that I have. Thanks, Again, Sam
