Will CE Smith Keel Roller Assembly Rotate When Loading and Unloading Boats

Updated 08/12/2024 | Published 08/10/2024

Question:

Does this roller rotate any on the roller shaft when loading or unloading the boat on the trailer? Further I may only need to replace the roller and shaft plus end caps for shaft can the roller, shaft and end/retainer caps be purchased separately if needed? What diameter is the shaft for the roller on this part? Thanks!

Thanks for reaching out, Dave!

The roller on the CE Smith Keel Roller Assembly for 3" Wide Trailer Tongues # CE32003G is not designed to wobble, and if you get the bracket tight enough it should be pretty stationary. If you're asking about the roller spinning on the shaft when loading and unloading then yes, it should do that.

As far as just the roller, we don't have this specific roller, but we have the Amber Color # CE29516 that you can pair with the Roller Shaft and Pal Nuts # CE10722A to avoid getting the whole kit. The nice thing about this color is that it won't leave marks on your boat like a traditional black on will.
