Hello Walter, thanks for reaching out. A 1-3/4" receiver is definitely not standard. I am not aware of any trailer hitches made in that size. I can tell you that we do not carry any accessories or adapters for a 1-3/4" hitch. I even looked around elsewhere online and found no mention of a 1-3/4" receiver being a thing. The only hitch sizes made today are 1-1/4", 2", 2-1/2", and even a 3" on certain Ford trucks. Your hitch is pretty old though, so it could be the 1-3/4" receiver is just an old size that is now obsolete.
You best option at this point will be to use a different hitch for your vehicle. If you can let me know the year, make and model of your vehicle I am happy to look into it and see if we have a hitch for you.

Hey Walter, did you get a chance to check what hitch might work as a replacement for your old Putnam receiver? Once you know your vehicle’s year, make, and model, I can help narrow down the right fit. Your update could make it easier for others with older hitches to find a solution too.
