What Info Is Needed to Pick Out Weight Distribution System for Trailer

Updated 08/07/2024 | Published 08/03/2024

Question:

I have a One GMC Sierra 4 x 4 four-door. So my question is what is the Best weight distribution kit to use? I have a 1978 worldwide holiday rambler trailer. I have found a 2 inch ball is too small and the next size up was 2 3/4, that I have found. I greatly appreciate all the insight of recommendations. Thank you in advance, Sandee Whitesell

Hey Sandee, so the best way to pick out a weight distribution system is to base it off of the loaded tongue weight of the trailer. Since we don't have that info yet I can't really be much more specific than that till you get me that info.

It does sound like the hitch ball size you need is the 2-15/16 inch size as that's the bigger size than the 2 inch that you said was too small.

@SandeeW The Reese Pro Round Bar Setup part # RE94FR would be a great choice for you then as it has a tongue weight range of 400-800 lbs and is priced great.
