Question:

I have a 2018 Chevy Malibu that can be flat towed. I am purchasing a 2018 Thor ACE 32.1. Please advise what items I need to connect these two vehicles. At the moment, I have nothing. Charles

Hi Charles; to flat tow your 2018 Chevy Malibu you will need a base plate, tow bar, safety cables, wiring, and a supplemental braking system. I recommend the following:

-Blue Ox Base Plate Kit - Removable Arms # BX1726

-Blue Ox Alpha 2 Non-Binding Tow Bar - RV Mount - 2" Hitch - 6,500 lbs # BX7380 (includes safety cables)

-Roadmaster Smart Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Wiring Kit # RM26FR (Unless you have the LTZ then use # RM-152-LED-7)

-Demco Stay-IN-Play Duo Braking System # SM99251 or # DM86VR if you want the wireless monitor

I'm assuming the motorhome already has a hitch and 7-way connection on the back. The only other thing you may need is a high-low adapter. I have attached a helpful article below which explains how to measure to choose the right one. I also attached a link to all of our available high-low adapters for your reference.

@CharlesT you won't need a ball mount, the tow bar goes directly into the hitch on the motorhome. What you may need is a high-low adapter like I said at the end of the answer. This will keep you level. To find the right one you need to measure. Here is the link again for the article that explains it.
