Are all furrion AC units wired alike?

Hey Shawn,

Furrion AC units already have a proprietary start capacitor that varies based on model and BTU rating. Since you're looking at the SoftStartRV Soft Start # SSR54FR I'm assuming you're having issues with your current start capacitor or were just looking at adding one? What's the model and BTU rating for your unit?

I searched that whole unit and can't find either of them, this unit was put on before I bought the trailer, it runs well but I can only run it with my 4000/3800 generator my 2500 won't run it

@Shawn If you remove the cover of the air distribution box and look up at the opening where the air is pushed down through on the rooftop unit you should see a barcode sticker that lists the model number for the unit. If you look at the rooftop unit with the shroud off there's a sticker with wiring diagram that shows the start capacitor and what it's wired to that you could use to find it. These start capacitors store energy that can be deadly so you should only have a qualified technician discharge the capacitor before touching it. It is possible that yours is defective but Furrion has stated in the past that their 15,000BTU units require 2,500 watts to start so it's possible that generator really just isn't enough to power the unit.
