Question:
I currently have Dexter 9 Torflex axles with hub 008-259-05 and want to swap to a straight axle with leaf springs. Will my current hubs fit on a standard 2000 lb capacity Dexter leaf sprung axle?

Hi Hilton; the spindle on your typical 2k axle uses # L44649 or # L44643 bearings. The 008-259-05 hub you have now is able to use both. You will need to make sure the bearings match the spindle of your replacement axle before you install the hubs on the spindle. These can be swapped out in the hub using the same # L44610 races so if you have # L44649 bearings and need # L44643 all you need to do is buy a new set of bearings to make it work.

Hey Hilton, how did the hub swap go when you matched the bearings to your new 2,000‑lb axle? Knowing which bearing size worked best could help others doing the same conversion.
