Question:
I just tried to install this harness and the ends are not correct. I need a a harness that has pins in both ends of the connectors. how do I return ?

Expert Reply:
A connector that has pins in both ends would not be able to plug into anything. Its like a wall outlet, the female end has the slots for the prongs and hole for the ground and the male end has the prongs. All T-connector harnesses work this way. It sounds like you might be talking about a harness that plugs in line with the tail light wiring and has not 2 but 4 connectors total.
If your truck did not come with a factory tow package then there would be no where to plug in harness C55256 since it was design for trucks that came with a factory tow pacakge. If that is the case you should be using hardwire harness # 18252.
I have also included a link to all the wiring harnesses for your 2001 Ford F-150. Be sure to select the vehicle style you have from the drop down menu at the top of the page.
Once you have determined the best harness for your needs you can call customer service at 800-298-8924 and explain that you need to send back one harness and order a different one and they will be able to help you.
