I’d like to know what kind of stepstool or ladder you were using to do the video because that’s important. I’ll need to carry that with me on my travels. I know you weren’t that tall lol

Hi Randy; in the video for the Thule Compass Kayak Roof Rack # TH890000 he is standing in the threshold of the Jeep. You can see in the corner that the door is open so he could step up higher. However, this isn't always the best option and doesn't work well in some vehicles.
A really popular tool that can help get you up there is the Rightline Gear Moki Door Step # RL100660. This hooks onto the U-shaped door latch on either side of your vehicle adding a solid step with a 400 lb capacity. I really like this option since it is small and easy to store unlike a step stool.
