Question:

I need the U-Bolt kit replacement parts for my 20 year old Karrite Canadian Tire purchase in Canada hardshell rooftop or cartop carrier. I know the product number: 40-1041-0 What will work since the store no longer has the parts available. I have the locks on it too, but no keys to lock it. Not essential, but would be great to replace it, if I could.

Hi Mona; I wasn't able to find what model Karrite you have with that model number. However, we have had customers in the past replace their mounting hardware with the # TH05603. You can check the distance between your mounting holes to see if these bolts line up. The U-bolt is 4-3/16" wide center to center. In some cases people have drilled new holes and filled the old ones with # LT37467 when there isn't mounting hardware that fits.

If you have the number off of the lock core a Thule key will work assuming the number matches an available key. If not, we have also found that the Replacement Lock Core and Key for SportRack Explorer Cargo Box # SR03807 has worked on Karrite carriers.
