How Does Furrion Automatic Transfer Switch Work
Updated 07/10/2024 | Published 07/02/2024 >
Question:
Sorry I dont understand... I have a Generac whole house generator, If the utility power is lost the generator starts and runs until the utility power returns. Is this the same way the Furrion Automatic Transfer Switch - 50 Amp - 125/250V performs?

Hi Rick; yes, it is the same concept with the Furrion Automatic Transfer Switch # F50ATS. The transfer switch is wired to automatically change from shore power or an inverter to a generator when available. Just like with your home setup, if you unexpectedly lose shore power the switch will automatically begin to run power to your RV's appliances from your generator.

So to be sure I understand… it would not be necessary for anyone to intervene. As with my Generac the generator would start and run until shore power is restored and then shut down? Even though no one was present at the RV?
