When this awning is rolled up is the color against the trailer black. I don’t want a solid black awning. The color of the trailer is grey with black highlights

Yes, it is black. The black fade awning on the Solera Smart Arm item # LC517517 is black on RV side and turns white as it goes towards the roller tube. Once it is all rolled up though you'll see the black fabric. I get you don't want black but the only other option is white item # LC405523 and black will go better with your RV's paint job then white that's for sure.
