How Many Staples Do I Need to Install the CE Smith Deluxe Marine-Grade Carpeting?

When building new trailer bunks, new treated southern pine with galvanized staples 3/8 x 1/2. Staples spacing? How many per ft?

You will want to use 1/2" stainless steel staples every 2 to 3" to install the CE Smith Deluxe Marine-Grade Carpeting item # CE11372. Make sure you only put staples on the back side of the bunks where they won't touch the boat hull.
