Question:
I watched the installation video for the Subaru Outback 2024 and it mentions intercepting the brown wire that comes off of the brake plunger. I have a Subaru Outback Wilderness 2024 and that connector has no brown wire. It has: White Yellow Blue/Red Black Green From the video I can see that White/Yellow/Green are present so that leaves the Blue/Red or the Black witch one should I use? Thanks, Craig

Hey Craig,
Not quite sure which video you're referring to but I'm assuming you're trying to install a trailer brake controller? If this is the case then I wouldn't follow the video on the wire color and I would test each wire with a hook & probe tester # PTW2993 to find the one wire that only has power when the brake pedal is depressed. I've run into issues in the past where the vehicle manufacturer switched the brake light switch wire color during the same model year so it's always best to confirm the right one.
You could also bypass the brake light switch wire by installing a stop light switch kit # RM-751000 and connecting the red wire from the brake controller wire harness to the output of the switch.
