Does a Vehicle that Weighs Less than 3,000 lb Need Supplemental Braking if Flat Towed

In the video instructions to install the base plate, you installed a breakaway switch. In the video instruction to install the battery disconnect switch the instructor said supplemental braking system is not required if the vehicle like the Chevy Spark is under 3000 lbs. Which is it because I am at this point to install the breakaway switch and wiring.

Hey Pete, that is an odd piece of advice you found where it said that if the car weighs less than 3,000 lb a supplemental braking system isn't required. The laws on that do vary state to state so I would for sure check in your area but it would be best to be on safe side and install one like the Blue Ox Patriot # BLU37TR.
