Question:
The 7 pin adapter on my John Deere 5101E does not mate up with the 7 pin adapter on my dump trailer. I see you have 2 adapters but really dont know if they will work for me. Can you advise please? Thanks

It sounds like you need to replace the connector either on the John Deere or on your trailer. You will want to determine which one you need to replace so that you choose the correct connector. Since connectors on the trailer side are typically female, you can use a connector like part # H20046. You will want to use a circuit tester like part # PTW2993 to make sure the functions on the trailer match the tractor.
I was unable to find the 7-pin harness on the tractor. You may wish to replace both of the connectors to make sure everything works properly. The connector for the tractor that would match the # H20046 on the trailer is part # 54-77-003. Again, you will want to test each of the wires and make sure you match those with the trailer wiring.
Below is the usual wire function on a trailer.
White Wire - Ground - White Wire on trailer.
Red Wire - Left Turn and Brake - Yellow Wire on trailer.
Brown Wire - Right Turn and Brake - Green Wire on trailer.
Green Wire - Tail Lights - Brown Wire on trailer.
Blue Wire - Brake Power - Blue Wire on trailer
Black Wire - 12 volt (hot lead) - Black Wire on trailer
Yellow Wire - Aux. -
