Question:
I am looking to purchase four replacement tires for my R28BHS travel trailer. The data plate/decal states that the tires should be ST225/75R15D 5200 lbs/axle 65PSI 15x6 wheel. Can you help me out by confirming what the D means at the end of the tire size/PN? Does it mean the Load Range or Tire Speed? I am leaning toward the Load Range, but want confirmation from those more knowledgeable than I am before I make the investment. Thanks from Rome, GA!

Hi Jon; the D is going to be the load range. You could use a tire like the Karrier ST225/75R15 Radial Trailer Tire - Load Range D # AM10256 or even move up to a load range E like the # TR225LRE. The most important thing is making sure the combined capacity of the tires exceeds the GVWR of your trailer. Both of these have a speed rating of M for 81 mph. I would personally go with the Provider since it has better tread and the higher capacity will let the tires run a little cooler.
