Adding Valterra Bladex Waste Valve T40B To A 2018 Forest River Sierra Model SET403RD

Question:
Hello... I have a 2018 Forest River Sierra Model SET403RD. Im having issues opening my waste valve, becoming very difficult to open with the silly long cable and appears to be leaking by. Its actually a lousy set-up with the long cable in my opinion. Im looking to just leave the current one open and add a TB40 in a straight pipe area just below the belly pan. I have like 14 inches of pipe to play with. Im pretty sure this TB40 Hub to Hub is what I need to add. My main question is how much of the pipe would I need to cut out to make this TB40 fit snug, and yes I know I also need the A05-0303 cement. Thank you for your time!! Gerry

Hello Gerry. The hub portion of the Valterra Bladex Waste Valve # T40B is 1-1/2" deep. Overall, the valve itself is a bit over 5" deep. You would want the valve to be positioned so it is easily accessible, but it does not protrude from the side of the camper. I really can't give you an exact number for like how many inches of pipe to cut off. I would take the valve and just dry fit it to the pipe to see how it is positioned and how it looks. You can then cut the pipe as needed. Replacing your old valve with this one will take care of any leaks and it will make the valve much easier to operate. I have included a link to our install video below for your reference.
