Question:
Is there a recommended ball mount that clears the flipped down license plate and also is at a decent height for small trailers? Ive got the 8inch curt because its got 13.5inch shank length but it still seems not quite level. Cant seem to find other good options and adjustable ball mounts dont clear the plate.

I like to recommend the Draw-Tite Ball Mount for 2" Hitches item # 2753 for the Chevy Volt's with the hitch behind the plate item # 306-X7338. It measures 9" from the hitch pin hole to where the hitch ball sits so this will give you plenty of room to clear your license plate and the back of your car.
The MaxxTow Adjustable-Height Ball Mount item # MT70068 has an extended hitch pin hole to clear your Volt's license plate bracket. It has a 7-1/2" drop or a 6-1/4" rise so lots of adjustability to level out your trailer.
