Redarc Plug and Play Brake Controller Adapter for a 2021 Audi Q7

Updated 06/17/2026 | Published 04/24/2024

Question:

I have a red arc tow pro brake controller from my previous vehicle. Can I use this with a 2021 Audi Q7 with the factory tow package? What cabling would I need to buy. Thank you, Ken Beghini

Since your 2021 Audi Q7 has the factory tow package you do have a brake controller port but Redarc didn't make a specific plug and play adapter for it. There is a work around that will let you install your Redarc Tow Pro Liberty item # RED24FR or Elite item # RED44FR without having to cut or splice wires. You can use the following two adapters connected together instead of having to hardwire:

Tekonsha Plug-In Wiring Adapter for Electric Brake Controllers item # TK22FR

Redarc Tow-Pro Wiring Adapter for Tekonsha Brake Controller Harness item # 331-TPH-017

I'm trying to wire a Tow Pro Liberty into a 2025 Q7, and am having trouble finding the Tekonsha TK22FR harness. Is there a current solution for plug-and-play wiring for this setup?

@Matt We no longer carry the Tekonsha TK22FR harness because their parent company filed for bankruptcy and we're no longer receiving inventory from them. The only option I have for you to get your Tow-Pro Liberty installed is to use the Universal Wiring Harness for Redarc Tow-Pro Trailer Brake Controllers item # RED69FR.
