Question:
I have an 05 Expy, XLT, no towing package. Just purchased a Derale oil cooler from etrailer. Also picked up the Hayden 395 fittings recommended on your site. Cooler mounted up great. Hoses are run. BUT I cannot tie the hoses in as planned. Looking for guidance on where I may have gone wrong. The truck has a trans cooler inside the radiator housing and a second small cooler on the lower passenger side in front of the radiator. I had planned to disconnect the stock line from the small cooler and hook one side of my new aux cooler into the stock line and one into the small cooler. However, the fitting listed online appear to be 3/8 and the stock cooler appears to have 1/2. I cannot find 1/2 by hose barb fittings anywhere in town to allow tie in here. Please help. I am supposed to be pulling a 30ft trailer in 4 days with the truck.

We have a 1/2 inch compression fitting to go from 1/2 inch line to 1/2 inch NPT barb # D13033.
I would actually have the flow go from the transmission, to the factory cooler in the radiator, then from there to the other cooler, and then to the Derale cooler before going back to the transmission. This is the normal way to install a supplemental cooler (at the end of the line).
The fitting we have listed for the 2005 Ford Expedition is # D13025 which are 5/8 inch inverted flare fittings.
