Question:

I have a 2024 Entegra Expanse built on a 2023 Ford Transit 350. I am wondering whether the Yakima EXO Swing Away 2 Bike Rack with Enclosed Cargo Carrier part Y34ZR can be mounted on the 2inch trailer hitch and still allow the rear doors to open fully. Do I also need the hitch extender?

The Yakima EXO Swing Away 2 Bike Rack w/ Enclosed Cargo Carrier # Y34ZR will restrict the passenger side door on your 2024 Entegra Expanse. When the arm swings out it will be sitting at that corner of the vehicle which means the door will be able to open most of the way for partial access, just not all the way.

The distance from the center of the hitch pin hole to the closest part of the rack is 4-1/4". If the distance from your hitch pin hole to the edge of your bumper is more than 4-1/4" the Yakima StraightShot Hitch Extension # Y69VR will be required. If it is right at 4-1/4" I would still use the extension to give you some extra clearance.

Thanks Robin. Do you know whether there is a hitch extension that raises the EXO base a bit higher off the ground?

@Kurt the # Y69VR is the only approved extension for the EXO. Yakima doesn't offer one that will also raise it. However, you could add in the Gen-Y Stacked Receiver # 325-GH-303. This can handle 1,500 lbs and won't reduce tongue weight. It would give you a 5" rise in the top receiver.
