Recommended Solar Charge Controller For Increasing
Updated 11/06/2023 | Published 11/04/2023 >
Question:
Good morning looking for some suggestions, where our controller is mounted, i would like to avoid having to unscrew the controller from the wall every time to disconnect the solar panel wire at the end of each season, I live in Alaska and pull my batteries, do you guys have a recommendation if someone wanted to install a switch that surface mounts next to my controller? And the final thing is I would like to slowly start building our solar up with the addition of additional panels, better batteries etc. Is there a recommendation for moving to an MPPT style controller? From what ive read through Id be installing the controller as close to the batteries as possible and then a remote display panel which I believe I could make fill the current controller spot and I would then have a more versatile and efficient controller Correct?. But the other downside I see is the current controller i currently have GP-PWM-30 I like the option of shutting of the GoPower inverter I have when I do not need outlets and want to conserve energy a bit better. Do you have any recommendations? Thank you

So to answer your first question, there is not a switch that surface mounts, but there is a better MPPT solar controller you can get to replace your current one. The right solar controller depends on how much power you end up wanting, but a great option is the Go Power MPPT Solar Charge Controller # GP72RR.
The # GP72RR is for up to two battery banks, 100V solar panel input (which is more than 3 times as much as your current controller), works with all battery types, and has a remote option with Bluetooth Remote Display for Go Power MPPT Solar Charge Controllers # GP37MR.
