Question:

Has anyone installed the Blue Ox Patriot braking system on a 2023 Ford Maverick Hybrid and how did you overcome that the cig lighter outlet is not powered with the ignition off? Thanks

We have not had a chance to install the Blue Ox Patriot # BLU37TR on a Ford Maverick yet. Since your 12V outlet shuts off with the vehicle you will need to install the 12 Volt Outlet Kit # RM-9332. It looks like the factory 12V is on a timer so it shuts off after a certain amount of time. The timer can be extended with FORScan but apparently you can't change it to stay on indefinitely so that won't work with flat towing. You will also need the Roadmaster Brake-Lite Relay Kit # RM-88400 to prevent the truck's brake signal from overriding the turn signal from the RV when applying the brakes during a turn.
