Hi Ed,

I always prefer hitch mounted bike racks over trunk mounted so your Corolla will need to have a trailer hitch. If you don't currently have one then I recommend installing the Draw-Tite Sportframe Trailer Hitch Receiver # 24983.

Once installed you can choose a bike rack with a 1-1/4" shank. I own the Thule DoubleTrack Pro XT Bike Rack # TH92BJ, which has an adapter to work with either a 1-1/4" or 2" trailer hitch receiver. It can accommodate tires up to 5" wide, has padded ratcheting clamps with built in locks to prevent theft, and includes an anti-rattle hitch to prevent the rack from moving in the trailer hitch. It has a 35lb per bike capacity so you'll want to make sure your bikes fall under this.

Bike racks are typically easier to recommend when we have a bit more info on the bikes you plan on hauling around and input from you on what kind of features you'd prefer to have. If the DoubleTrack isn't really what suits your needs then let me know and we can find a better option.
