Question:
Hi, I have yakima a1 towers that I am attempting to install on a pop up truck camper shell. Unlike most camper shells, mine has perfectly vertical sides with square corners on the top. I had installed a pair of Thule artificial rain gutters, but the inside of the clamp interfered with the artificial gutter bracket. I had been advised that the two were compatible, but it seems the bracket would need to be mounted at an angle. Would the yakima brackets solve this issue? Are they able to be installed on a vertical surface? Would the holes align with the holes I have already drilled in my camper for the thule brackets? Thank you for the help, Matt

I talked to Yakima about this and they said you can install the # Y08002 on the vertical sides of your camper shell. The only thing that may be an issue is the location of your windows. These cannot be installed above a window so as long as you avoid that these will allow you to add your roof rack use the Yakima 1A Raingutter Towers # Y00101. I don't have the bolt hole spacing on the Thule but these are 4-1/8" apart on center so you can see if that matches where you drilled.
