Question:
Will this work on a Bristol gate valve? I have a leak in my 1 1/2inch grey water gate valve and upon removal noticed one of the seals was crimped so would like to just replace the seal rather than the whole assembly. I am unable to find this seal as a Bristol item. Thanks for your help

Hey Douglas,
The Valterra Bladex RV Waste Valve Seals # T1001-9VP are slightly larger (thicker) than the LaSalle Bristol gate valve seals so you while you could get them to fit you'd likely have a leak over time. Your best bet would be to replace the gate valve with a Valterra gate valve like part # T1001VP. The old gate valve can just be unbolted from the plumbing and swapped over to the newer valve and from then on you can replace just the seals as needed. The bolt pattern for these follows an industry standard spacing so the gate valves are easily interchangeable.
I've attached a video below where I'll walk you through swapping out the gate valves.
