Question:
I have a 2012 Open Range Light fifth wheel 29RLS and I would like to be able to put some sort of hitch on the back to be able to haul my golf cart with a carrier. Is this possible?

Hey Ivan,
Yes, this is a pretty common request for trailer owners that also want to haul their boat, golf cart, ATV, etc. so they add a trailer hitch and tow a second trailer. This is called triple towing and can be dangerous because you're adding more length and a second pivot point so there are laws and restrictions on triple towing that you'll want to research before attempting it. Usually the state and local municipalities you'll be driving through will need to be checked. I don't know of a carrier that would have the space and capacity for hauling a golf cart so you'll have to tow a second trailer.
To find the right hitch you'll need to measure from the inside of one frame beam to the inside of the other frame beam. This distance is referred to as your frame width. From there we can choose an adjustable fit trailer hitch like the Curt # C13704. This specific hitch fits a frame width from 22" to 66" and has a 2" drop. If your trailer has a rear bumper you'll likely either have to remove it or find a hitch with a larger drop to clear it.
To tow a second trailer you'll also have to install 4-pole wiring to the transfer your light signals from the 5th wheel to the second trailer for the golf cart. You can splice the Curt # C58345 into the trail light wiring of the 5th wheel in order to get the signal to the second trailer.
