Will Bike Adapter Bar Pull Seat Off of Bike During Use
Updated 03/18/2024 | Published 03/16/2024 >
Question:
With the Thule or any other adaptor bar, the bike hangs supported by the handlebar stem and the seat stem. Isnt there a danger that constant use could loosen the seat causing one to lose their bike? Or are the mechanics such that this is not likely to happen? I would like to use the adaptor bar on my wifes step-thru bike, but am concerned about the possibility of losing it. Any assurances?

Great question Gerard!
The Thule Bike Adapter Bar # TH982XT could potentially pull the seat loose, but that would take either going over some pretty rough terrain for a prolonged time, or a whole lot traveling without checking on the bike.
I will say, I've worked in this industry for over 7 years now and I've never heard of this happening so I'd say the odds are in your favor of your bike being safe.
