Replacement Bearing Kit for a 3,900 lb Axle
Updated 02/29/2024 | Published 02/22/2024 >
Question:
What wheel bearing kit do I need for my TT wheels? The axle tag says Capacity: 3,900 lbs?...doesnt specify. The Dexter # is 9798179. Its a 19 foot single axle camper trailer. Your categories seem to jump from 3,500 to 4000 pounds, so Im at 3,900. Thank you.

Hey Thomas, thanks for reaching out!
According to my research your 3,900 lb axle should use the same bearing parts as a 3,500 lb axle so you should need the Hub Bearing Kit for 3,500 lb with #84 Spindle # BK2-100.
This uses an L68149 inner bearing, an L44649 outer bearing, and a grease seal with a 1.719" ID and 2.565" OD so you'll want to verify this on your end as well.

Thanks for the detailed reply, Jon. I appreciate it. When the weather gets better I'm going to unwrap the camper (still freezing up here in the Northeast) and get the wheel off so that I can double check the numbers on the races and bearings, just to make sure. Then I'll order the parts as long as the shipping won't take too long. Have a great day!
