Tire Chains to Fit 225/75R16 Tires on U-Haul Truck

Updated 01/02/2024 | Published 01/01/2024

Question:

I will be renting a 20ft Uhaul box truck to drive from California to Florida along I-10 this winter and would like an affordable solution for traction if I run into snow and ice in the high country. Their fleet of trucks are equipped with LT225/75R16 tires. Please advise me of my options. Thank you.

We have a variety of chains to fit 225/75R16 tires and for your application I recommend the following:

- Front # TC1142
- Back # TC4219CAM

You'll also want to get the Glacier Multi-Arm Tire Chain Tensioners # PW105 to keep the chains tightened up.

Be sure to check with U-Haul policies as well as the highway laws when it comes to using chains.
