Can a Fixed 5TH Wheel Hitch Be Installed On a 2024 GMC Sierra 2500 With 6-3/4' Bed Prep/Puck System?

I only see sliding 5th wheel hitches listed for my 2024 GMC Sierra 2500. Is there any reason I cannot use a fixed hitch? I have the 6-3/4' bed with the factory connection points in the bed.

Typically it is recommended to use a sliding 5th wheel hitch like the B&W Companion Slider # BWRVK3775 for a 2024 GMC Sierra 2500 with the shorter 6-3/4' bed and the factory prep/puck system. Personally I prefer the Demco Autoslide 5th Wheel Hitch # DM29GV since it will automatically slide back up to 14" as you turn. This will give you the clearance needed to make full jack knife turns with most 5th wheel trailers.
A fixed hitch like the B&W Companion # BWRVK3710 are only ever recommended if you tow 5th wheels with a rotating pin box like the Reese Sidewinder # RP77FR. This pin box allows you to change the pivot point from the 5th wheel hitch to the pin box mounting point on the camper.
