Question:
Am interested in bringing 12V power directly from battery to the back seat not the hatch of my 2003 Hummer H2 to run an Igloo cooler. The RM 9332 would seem to fit the ticket, but the power cord is only 5 feet in length. While there is a grommet on the underside of the HUmmer, it is unclear that 5ft will get to the location needed in the back seat. As the RM 9331 extension cord is also 16 AWG wire, can this be interfaced with the RM9332 coming off the battery so as to give me the additional length needed?

It's totally normal to splice on some extra wire to the 12 Volt Outlet Kit # RM-9332 to get it to the battery so I would just use some 12 AWG # 12-1-1 and a butt connector # DW05745-5 instead of using the extension # RM-9331. The extension would technically work but just splicing in more wire is a bit cleaner of a setup.
