2001 Ram 2500 sport 4x4. Seeing mixed reviews about the 31604 fitting the Ram sport. Curt shows 1500 sport no, 2500 sport yes, is this true?

I checked with Curt just now and the # 31604 front hitch does for the 2001 Dodge Ram 2500 Sport models. It does not fit the 1500 Sport models.
