It may be necessary to also plug in your trailer to the Echo # C51180 so your 2012 Mercedes-Benz GL550 sends 12V power back to the trailer, which in turn powers on the Echo.
Each vehicle is different when it comes to sending 12V power back to the 7-Way connection so sometimes it takes playing around with the setup to get that power. If you still don't get power to the Echo when your trailer is plugged in then I recommend plugging the trailer straight into the 7-Way to see if the issue is your vehicle sending the power or the Echo reading the power.
