Should There Be Any Gap Between The Roadmaster D-Ring Adapter And The D-Ring

Question:

Just received my RM-035-1 d-ring adapter. Thay seem a little sloppy, is this normal? My D ring mounts on my bumper measure right at 1 inch but the adapter is about 1/8 inch bigger.

I've dealt with this issue in the past and Roadmaster stated that there shouldn't be more than 1/8" gap, otherwise you'll get two much play and can start to get friction. Since you're right at 1/8" with the # RM-035-1 you'll most likely be good to go but it wouldn't hurt to reach out to Roadmaster to see if they approve of this for warranty reasons. In the attached video below you can see the same amount of gap at the 1:45 minute mark.
