Question:
Can this be secured to the trailer at all? I tend to be forgetful and I wouldn't be surprised if I take this off and forget to reinstall it before driving off.

The JR Products 1/4" Diameter Coupler Pin # 37201271 is a pretty basic snapper pin that doesn't come with a way to secure it to your trailer when it's removed from the coupler.
For an alternative that stays secured to your trailer I recommend the Coupler Pin w/ Chain # 37201171 which has the same 1/4" and a smaller 1-3/8" length, but if you're using this for a standard latch then the shorter length won't be an issue at all.
