Question:
Im intending to install this hitch on my car to carry a cargo rack, Im not worried about staying under the 200lb limit, however I do not know where I would connect the support strap to the car, I have no roof rack, and even if I did it would run the weight over the spoiler which is built in to the car and is not rated for the weight.... How do you connect a support strap to this hitch/cargo carrier combo on a mazda 3 hatch back?

Curt does not specify where the stabilization strap, # 18050, has to be connected to the vehicle, just that it should be. If there happens to be a gap between the spoiler and body of the car that the hook could fit through then you would attach it to the seam between the hatch and the roof.
There are other trailer hitch options that do not require the use of the stabilization strap. I reocmmend the Draw-Tite trailer hitch # 24843. It costs less than the Curt, has the same capacity, and you will not have to use the strap.
If you already have the Curt hitch and have to use the strap and cannot run it to the top of the hatch then I recommend hooking it to the bottom of the hatch. The hitch once installed will be low enough to where the strap when attached to the vehicle in this location will still be high enough to properly support the rack.
