Question:
I already have a maxair vent for my sprinter van. I need to add a vent for cross flow of air. I have a question about Item # 37202-29115. Is this style of vent ok to use on the roof of a van? I see its not very tall and I wanted to know if it wasnt made for roofs water intrusion.

Expert Reply:
The Mushroom Vent # 37202-29115 is designed to be placed on a roof, but you'll need to remove the cap prior to installation and face vent properly to prevent leakage. You'll also want to use some butyl tape # AL28FJ on the bottom ring of the vent and some self-leveling sealant # 34427034145-1 over the top of the ring to prevent any water from leaking in through the mounting holes.
