Question:

Hello, I have a couple of questions about the hitch options for the Subaru Crosstrek Hybrid 2020. First, why does the the ETrailer brand 2” exclude the hybrid. Second, is there a 2” option that is more economical than the eco hitch? Thanks.

We have checked with our vendor quite a few times about the etrailer Hitch item # e98912 not fitting the hybrid model Crosstreks because this hitch fits seven different model years. Their answer has always been that there is something that blocks the hitch being installed that isn't on the regular model Crosstrek's. We have had multiple reviews and comments from customer's over the years backing this statement up.

The only option currently available for a class III hitch with a 2" receiver that fits a 2020 Subaru Crosstrek is the EcoHitch Stealth Hitch item # 306-X7365. In my opinion the extra cost of this hitch is worth it on a vehicle like a Crosstrek. The 2" receiver is completely removable so when you are not transporting an accessory like a bike rack or cargo carrier you can remove it entirely. This will leave your vehicle looking like it came from the factory because you can't see the rest of the hitch.
