What 7-Way Pin Needs to be Active for Curt Echo Mobile to Function
Published 08/22/2023 >
Question:
Have a 01 Ford Ranger without tow package. Have trailer 7 way plug hooked up to factory 4 way plug. Run 12 v wire to the trailer brake pin and no recognition by phone. Should I have hot wired to trailer power instead of trailer brake to work?

Yes, the 12 volt accessory pin of your 7-way is what needs power for the Curt Echo part # C51180 to function. This is what powers the controller. The output pin having voltage would not work.
