Using Curt CrossWing in 2018 Ram 2500 With Standard Bed Rails

Question:

I have an existing Demco hitch and the standard rails bolted into the bed of my 2018 Ram 2500 that keys me take it in and out. It seems like I would have to remove these rails and get new rails drilled and bolted in? If so, what parts or customization would I need? Lugging my existing hitch is getting old along with me and if I can light weight removing it as needed, I would love to know what I need to go about that.

So it sounds like you already have 5th wheel rails in your 2018 Ram 2500, and while there's an easier way to use the CrossWing, since you asked specifically about the gooseneck-to-fifth wheel CrossWing # C92DR what you would need to do is remove your 5th wheel rails and install the Curt Underbed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch # C60614.

That said, I'd forgo that and instead just use the CrossWing that installs directly on 5th wheel rails:

The # C86JR will fit your standard base rails and is actually a bit lighter than the gooseneck adapter version (60 lbs vs. 70 lbs) so it'll be easier to handle.
