Picking Out What Length of Bunk Board for Boat Trailer

Published 08/15/2023

Question:

Hi, My trailer with rollers is causing a hull issue with the old apparently more fragile then i knew fiberglas hull on my classicinch 1977 Larson 155 Shark 15ft tri-hull. I am thinking my best bet would be to replace the 4 sets of yinch rollers with 4 sets 8 total bunks, even though id probably lose the tilt of the rear set of rollers. Can you advise length of bunks? Would 5-footers do the trick? thanks!

You'd want to go with the length that matches the length of the hull that can make contact with bunks. I wouldn't recommend going on the shorter side as that means more weight is concentrated on a smaller section of the bunk. I don't have a way to know what would be the correct size. The longest bunk board we have is 7 foot with the part # CE27845.
