What Axle Capacities are 6 Lug Trailer Wheels Used On

Question:
I have a 6 lug trailer axle that is round but also plated on top and bottom. The pound part measures 2 inches wide, if you measure.the round and plated which is the bottom to top it measures 2.25 inches. The spring packs have 12 leaves in them. How much is this axle rated at? There are not any tags or ratting on the axles.

That's really hard to say but I would venture to guess right at 3,500 to be on the safe side. In general 6 lug wheels are used on 3,500 to 6,000 lb axles but based on the smaller diameter of your axle I would have to lean on the lighter duty side.
